Road closures for annual Remembrance Day parades

THERE will be various road closures in place across Warrington this Sunday, November 13, for the annual Remembrance Day parades.

There will be road closures in Warrington town centre, Penketh & Sankey, Stockton Heath, Rixton, Lymm and Grappenhall.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice on the occasion of the above-mentioned event, no cart, carriage, motor car, lorry or any other vehicle (excepting vehicles taking part in the event, Police, Ambulance, Fire Service vehicles and Mail Carts) and no horses or other animal will be allowed to remain in or travel along or over any of the undermentioned streets when being used by the remembrance day parades as indicated below.
The undermentioned streets will be closed between the hours specified when it is required to do so to allow for the safe passage of the parades.

Warrington Remembrance Day Parade
Between the hours of 8:00 am and 1:00 pm:
• Sankey Street
• Springfield Street
• Palmyra Square South
• Suez Street
• Rylands Street
• Bridge Street
• Legh Street – Bath Street to Sankey Street
• Bridge Foot
• Mersey Street – Bridge Street to Academy Street
• Warrington New Bridge
• Knutsford Road – St Marys Street to Warrington Bridge
• Wilderspool Causeway – Brian Bevan Island to Warrington Bridge
• Warrington Bridge

Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (various prohibitions, restrictions, & Suspensions in Town Centre) Temporary Order 2022 in so far as it relates to:
2. To prohibit any Motor Vehicle proceeding on Winmarleigh Street from making a left hand turn at its junction with Sankey Street. Pedal Cycles will be permitted.

Penketh and Sankey Remembrance Day Parade
Between the hours of 10:00am and 1:00pm:
• Honiton Way
• Jubilee Avenue
• Meeting Lane – Jubilee Avenue to St Marys Road
• St. Marys Road – Meeting Lane to The Dale

Stockton Heath Remembrance Day Parade
Between the hours of 10:00am and 11:30pm:
• Ellesmere Road – Between Egerton Street and London Road

Rixton Remembrance Day Parade
Between the hours of 10:30am and 11:15pm:
• Manchester Road – Between Dam Lane and St. Helens Close
• School Lane – Between The Weint and Dam Lane
• Dam Lane – Between Manchester Road and School Lane

Lymm Remembrance Day Parade
Between the hours of 9:00am and 12:00pm:
• Davies Way
• Brookfield Road
• Church Road – Between Rectory Lane and Brookfield Road

Grappenhall Remembrance Day Parade
Between the hours of 9:30am and 12:30pm:
• Stockport Road – Stanton Roads to Knutsford Road
• Chester Road – Knutsford Road to Shadewood Crescent
• Shadewood Crescent – Chester Road to Lindi Avenue
• Lindi Avenue – Shadewood Crescent to Glebe Avenue
• Glebe Avenue
• Bellhouse Lane – Glebe Avenue to Church Lane
• Church Lane – Bellhouse Lane to Broad Lane

The restrictions will only be in place to allow for the safe passage of the parades with access under the control of the event organiser for the duration of the event.

Bicycles and Tricycles are included in the term “vehicle” and must not be ridden through any of the named streets during the hours specified. Any person wilfully acting in contravention of the above Order will be liable to a penalty not exceeding £400.
