BUSINESSES across Warrington and Cheshire have the opportunity to participate in the Net Zero transition at a free event in Chester on November 4th.

The Journey to Net Zero event is being run by the Cheshire and Warrington Sustainable and Inclusive Growth Commission, which was set up with the aim of moving further and faster towards achieving the sub-region’s ambition of becoming the most sustainable and inclusive place in the UK.
The event will be hosted at the headquarters of industry experts EA Technology; a fully operational net carbon-zero smart building that attendees will be able to tour as well as asking any questions about it or the Net Zero journey in general.
Other areas that will be covered include advancements that:

  • Can reduce a building’s carbon footprint
  • Cut energy bills
  • Enhance electricity and heating systems performance
  • Improve energy supply resilience
  • Increase building use flexibility

The event is aimed at businesses at all stages of their own Journey to Net Zero, whether they are just starting out or are already underway making adaptations with low carbon technologies.
After the presentations, tour and Q&A, there will be a networking lunch where attendees can discuss their own challenges and share their learnings with peers from all kinds of sectors.

Sam Corcoran, Leader of Cheshire East Council, and co-chair of the Sustainable and Inclusive Growth Commission said: “We have already seen in recent months the importance of sustainability and inclusive growth. We are heading towards difficult months for households and businesses alike because of the cost-of-living crisis and potential fuel crisis.
“This makes it all the more urgent that businesses across Cheshire and Warrington are starting to make that transition towards Net Zero, making their operations cleaner, greener and more profitable. This free event is a great way to learn more about Net Zero, the work of the Sustainable and Inclusive Growth Commission and get some ideas and inspiration.”
Robert Davis, CEO of EA Technology, and co-chair of the Sustainable and Inclusive Growth Commission, said: “We are proud to be hosting this event at our net carbon-zero smart energy building. Whilst much of our work is global, it is fantastic to be able to make a difference, literally, on our doorstep.
“Companies in Cheshire have the opportunity and an obligation to make a substantial and positive impact on the UK’s Net Zero commitments and this event is a great way to bring people together to kickstart this crucial change in our region.”
