Six more COVID-19 related deaths although infection rates and inpatient numbers show downward trend

SIX more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week, although infection rates and hospital inpatient numbers are showing a downward trend.

While infection rates have risen in 11 areas of Warrington, the overall trend is down and hospital inpatient numbers have fallen from 52-36.

The 202 cases week ending October 8 compared to 221 cases in the week ending October 1, compared to 197 the previous week and 138 the week before that. While there have been six more COVID-19-related hospital deaths since last week, inpatient numbers have fallen from 52-36  with 30 (36) patients discharged since last Thursday.

There have been 202 (221) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 83,326  (83,149) – 77,250 (77,126)  1st infections, 6,076 (6,023) second and an infection rate of 96.5 (105.5) per 100,000 which has fallen compared to a rate of 109.3 (89) for England which has risen.
