Three more COVID-19 deaths as infection rates continue to rise although inpatient numbers fall

WHILE another three COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week and infection rates are continuing to rise, hospital inpatient numbers have fallen for the first time in a month.

Infection rates have risen in 14 areas of Warrington, although hospital inpatient numbers have fallen from 69-52.

The 221 cases week ending October 1 compared to 197 cases in the week ending September 24, compared to 138 the previous week and 123 the week before that. While there have been three more COVID-19-related hospital deaths since last week, inpatient numbers have fallen from 69-52  with 36 (40) patients discharged since last Thursday.

There have been 221 (197) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 83,149  (82,934) – 77,126 (76,979)  1st infections, 6,023 (5,955) second and an infection rate of 105.5 (94.1) per 100,000 which has risen to a rate of 89 (71.9) for England which has also risen.
