Lib-Dems triumph in Grappenhall and Thelwall by-elections

THE Liberal-Democrats triumphed in yesterday’s by-elections at Grappenhall & Thelwall, holding on to two seats at Warrington Borough Council.

Helen Speed and Mark Browne topped the poll at the by-elections caused by the resignations of former borough Cllrs Ryan Bate, who has moved to America for work and Mike Biggins, who stood down due to health issues.

The turnout was 44.3 %

Meanwhile, the Lib-Dems also topped the poll in the parish by-elections with Sarah Marsh and Leila Williams topping the pool.

Mark and Helen said, “Our thanks to everyone who has put their faith in the Lib Dems again. We will keep the promises we’ve made to the very best of our abilities. We will be your voice at the Council and will work hard for all the people of Warrington.”
