Three more COVID-19 related deaths as inpatient numbers and infection rates continue to rise

WHILE three more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week, infection rates and hospital inpatient numbers have continued to rise for a third consecutive week.

Infection rates have risen in most areas of Warrington, with hospital inpatient numbers rising from 53-69.

The 197 cases week ending September 17 compared to 138 cases in the week ending September 17, compared to 123 the previous week and 108 the week before that. While there have been three more COVID-19-related hospital deaths since last week, inpatient numbers have risen from 53-69  with 40 (13) patients discharged since last Thursday.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, Sept 29, 2022, compared to Thursday 15 Sept (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample – 69 (53) including 0 (0) in ICU.

There have been 197 (138) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 82,934 (82,714) – 76,979 (76,819)  1st infections,  5,955 (5,895) second and an infection rate of 94.1 (65.9) per 100,000 which has fallen compared to a rate of 71.9 (49.8) for England which has also risen.
