Six more COVID-19 related deaths as hospital inpatient numbers almost double in a week

SIX more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week, with infection rates and hospital inpatient numbers rising again.

While infection rates have risen slightly again, all but three areas of the town have reported single-figure cases, although hospital inpatient numbers have almost doubled in a week from 28-53.

The 138 cases week ending September 17 compared to 123 cases in the week ending September 10, compared to 108 the previous week and 113 the week before that. While there have been three more COVID-19-related hospital deaths since last week, inpatient numbers have risen from 28-53  with 13 (21) patients discharged since last Thursday.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, Sept 22, 2022, compared to Thursday 15 Sept (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample – 53 (28) including 0 (1) in ICU.

There have been 138 (123) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 82,714 (82,553) – 76,819 (76,706)  1st infections,  5,895 (5,847) second and an infection rate of 65.9 (58.7) per 100,000 which has fallen compared to a rate of 49.8 (43.9) for England which has risen marginally
