A restaurant in Stockton Heath was evacuated last night after a wheelie bin fire spread to the building.

Fire engines from Stockton Heath and Lymm attended the fire shortly after 8 pm at the rear of the former fire station building at Nando’s restaurant on London Road, Stockton Heath.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the blaze, inside and outside the property and a ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the building.
Police were present for crowd management and traffic control.

An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the blaze.
