COVID-19 infection rates continue to fall but two more deaths as hospital inpatient numbers rise again

TWO more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported in Warrington during the past week and while infection rates are continuing to fall , hospital inpatient numbers have increased for a second week.

The 158  cases week ending August 19 compared to 193  cases in the week ending August 12, compared to 213 the previous week and 329 the week before that. While there have been two more COVID-19-related hospital deaths since last week, inpatient numbers have risen from 31-38  with 29 (23) patients discharged since last Wednesday.

Current inpatients as of Wednesday, August 24, 2022, compared to Wednesday, August 17 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 38 (31) including 1 (1) in ICU.

There have been 158 (193) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 82,176 (82,032) – 76,459 (76,363)  1st infections,  5,717 (5,669) second and an infection rate of 75.5 (92.2) per 100,000 which has fallen compared to a rate of 53.6 (70.8) for England which has also fallen.
