When a stroke happens then speed is essential

WE are all aware of Face Arms Speech Telephone 999, FAST, which indicates the urgency of receiving treatment fast.

What you may not be aware of, however, is that one crucial treatment is a thrombectomy, which can greatly reduce the chance of death or permanent disability by removing a blood clot from a vein or artery.
Unfortunately, this treatment is currently not available 24/7, treatment very much depending on being in the right place at the right time. In fact, in 2021 only 2.8% of people who suffered a stroke were lucky enough to receive a thrombectomy. A pledge by the NHS to increase this to 10% by 2022 has been missed due to lack of funds.

Margaret’s husband, Phil Black, was one of those lucky ones. In gratitude, Margaret is raising funds to try and get that pledge achieved. WatkinsonBlack and Northwich Art Shop are pleased to support her in that mission.
As part of her campaign she is organising an Art Event on Saturday 3rd September at Moulton Royal British Legion from 10.00am to 2.00pm. As well as the work of local artists and craftsmen being on display there will also be refreshments and a tombola. Some of the works will be for sale, others will be for display only.

Margaret would love to see you there. However, if you are unable to attend or you are reading this after the event then she would be so grateful if you make a donation to The Stroke Association. This can be done in one of two ways:
1. By sending a donation to Watkinson Black Client Bank Account Sort-Code 20-91-48 Account number 80764426, quoting STROKE as your reference. Please send an email to [email protected] if you wish to get a receipt.
2. By direct donation to The Stroke Association by going to www.stroke.org.uk/donate/make-donation We would ask if you do this that you send an email to [email protected] to let her know that you have done so and how much.

Please do not forget to gift aid your donation if you are a taxpayer. If you wish to do so using method 1 then please confirm this in your email stating that you are a taxpayer and include your full name and address including postcode.
