Travellers to be served notice to vacate Crab Lane playing fields as encampment leaves Howley

A travellers encampment is to be served with a notice to vacate council-owned land at the Crab Lane playing fields, Warrington.

Nine caravans and associated vehicles arrived at the site at the weekend but now after being visited by a welfare officer, they are to be served with a notice to vacate the land.

Meanwhile, a group of seven caravans that set up camp on Kingsway North, Howley on August 12, has now vacated the land after being served with a police notice. A clean-up of the site has been requested.
