Three more COVID-19 related deaths as eight areas of the town see increases and hospital inpatient numbers rise

WHILE three more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported in Warrington during the past week, infection rates are continuing to fall , although eight areas of the town have seen increases.

Hospital inpatient numbers have also increased slightly for the first time in several weeks.

The 213 cases week ending August 12 compared to 213 cases in the week ending August 5, compared to 329 the previous week and 450 the week before that. While there have been three more COVID-19-related hospital deaths since last week,  inpatient numbers have risen from 27-31  with 23 (49) patients discharged since last Wednesday.

Current inpatients as of Wednesday, August 17, 2022, compared to Wednesday, August 10 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 31 (27) including 1 (0) in ICU.

The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 709 – 338.6 per 100,000.

There have been 193 (213) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 82,032 (81,857) – 76,363 (76,238)  1st infections,  5,669 (5,619) second and an infection rate of 92.2 (101.7) per 100,000 which has fallen compared to a rate of 70.8 (89.1) for England which has also fallen.
