Neighbours oppose plan to replace bungalow with two detached houses

1

EIGHT neighbours and the local parish council have lodged objections to a plan to demolish a bungalow in Higher Lane, Lymm and replace it with two five-bedroom two-and-a-half storey houses.

Objections relate to the height of the properties compared with adjoining houses, closenss of the houses to existing houses, loss of trees, loss of privacy and light and being out of character with the area.

One objector claims the rear windows of the proposed house would give a view into the rear windows of a number of houses behind.
But Warrington Borough Council planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved when it comes before the Borough Council’s development management committee on Thursday.
They say the principle of residential development is acceptable and the scheme will add to the borough’s housing supply.
A report to the committee states that two previous applications to replace the existing bungalow were approved in 2008 and 2016 but did not proceed. A third application was refused.
The new houses would have integral garages, car parking and associated landscaping.
The applicant is JSJ Commercial Insurance

  1. Borough council should stand by the decision of the Parish Council. The very reason we have Parish Councils is to support the views of the local residents
