Six more COVID-19-related deaths as infection rates continue to fall in nearly all areas

WHILE Six more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported in Warrington during the past week, infection rates are continuing to fall in nearly all areas of the town.

The only area to actually see an increase in new cases is Hood Manor & Sankey Bridges with 12, compared to five last week.

The 213 cases week ending August 5 compared to 329 cases in the week ending July 29, compared to 450 the previous week and 630 the week before that. While there have been six more COVID-19-related hospital deaths since last week,  inpatient numbers have fallen from 43-27  with 49 patients discharged since last Wednesday.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, August 11, 2022, compared to Wednesday, August 3 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 27 (43) including 0 (0) in ICU.

The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 708 – 338.1 per 100,000.

There have been 213 (329) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 81,857 (81,674) – 76,238 (76,102)  1st infections,  5,619 (5,572) second and an infection rate of 101.7 (157.1) per 100,000 which has fallen compared to a rate of 89.1 (101.7) for England which has also fallen.
