Travellers given permission to stay on Victoria Park due to health issue

A travellers encampment that arrived on Victoria Park earlier today, Monday, has been given permission to remain temporarily.

Five caravans and associated vehicles arrived early today, and following a visit by welfare officers, have been given temporary permission to stay due to a health issue.

It is the latest in a long list of traveller encampment issues in the town, with another encampment currently on the overspill car park at Orford Park Jubilee Hub.
Seven caravans had been given temporary permission to stay and was due to be reviewed again today.
