POLICE caught nine motorists speeding in the Orford area, including one doing 37 mph in a 20mph zone and another doing 51 mph in a 30 mph zone.

A few other drivers were spoken to and given words of advice, while another was issued with a Section 59 notice for Anti-social Driving.

The officer’s Speed Enforcement initiative and work was appreciated by local residents, who were kind enough to come and say “Thank You” for taking action in their neighbourhood.

  1. Probably a more productive and community-friendly activity than LTN’s. The introduction of more 20MPH areas would do more to protect our communities than the farcical Central 6 plan.
