Man v Fat footballing legends!

TWO men have become “Man v Fat” footballing legends thanks to a weight-loss programme involving playing football for fun.

Steve Percy and Matt Little have lost over eight stone and six-and-half stone since signing up in October 2020.

Coach Dan Edwards said: “Steve has lost 52.4kg which is just over 8 stone and that means in total he has lost 40% of his body weight since starting. His BMI has come down by 19.93 and he is now at a healthy BMI. He is also one of the league’s Player Facilitators which means he helps coordinate the sessions and is on hand to speak to all of the lads, give any help hints or tips. He also hypes up the boys so much and is crucial to a number of the lads in our league losing weight.

Dan added: “Matt has lost 42.4kg which is about 6 and a half stone! This means he lost 32% of his body weight since starting. His BMI has come down 16.32 and he’s not far from achieving his healthy BMI zone. Matt has been one of our stars who has seen so many lifestyle benefits to losing weight, most importantly being more active for his young children and making the most of them being so young! He has gained so much confidence and is an all-around better place now, than he was in October 2020.

“We are a Men’s weight loss-inspired football league and we are here for anyone with a BMI over 27.5 and 18 years old or over. We have a full array of ages too from 18-mid 50s! Lots of different body types and BMI’s but all with one goal, and that is to get fitter and feel better. We are a great community and with all the help and support you get, if you buy into it then losing weight becomes thankfully much easier!

Dan added: “We are in our 6th season now after starting in 2020. Each season runs for 14 weeks, and this season we have just completed Week 6 so nearly at the half-way stage and the amount lost is incredible! We have lost 196.10kg in 6 weeks across our 8 teams. Which equates to just under 30 stone!
The teams play on Tuesdays at Orford Jubilee between 20:00-22:00.
