Infection rates continue to fall in most areas although one more COVID-19 death reported

COVID-19 infection rates have continued to fall in most areas of Warrington for a second consecutive week, although one more death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital.

The 450 cases week ending July 22 compared to 630 cases in the week ending July 15, compared to 748 the previous week and 574 the week before that. While there has been one COVID-19-related hospital death since last week,  inpatient numbers have fallen from 73-64 with 53 patients discharged since last Wednesday.

Current inpatients as of Wednesday, July 27, 2022, compared to Wednesday, July 20 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 64  (73) including 1 (3) in ICU.

The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 701 – 333.3 per 100,000.

There have been 748 (748) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 81,389 – 75,887  1st infections,  5,502 second (80,598) and an infection rate of  214.9  (300.9) per 100,000 which has fallen compared to a rate of 173.6 (266.3) for England which has also fallen.
