Former primary school pupils take trip down memory lane 60 years on from old school photo

0

SIXTY years on from their school photo, former pupils from St Alban’s RC Primary school were re-united to remember their school days – and those sadly no longer with them.

The old black and white photograph was taken on the 20th July 1962 at St Alban’s RC Primary School, which was situated several hundred yards from the old Warrington market, in King Street.

For several years some of the group have met up to reminisce and, before covid-19, arranged a get-together for all former King Street pupils at The Lord Rodney.

The group met up again at The Little Manor in Thelwall marking the 60 years since they left primary school and remembering, especially, those who are no longer with us, including former Wire legend Billy ‘Whizzer’ Cowell, who was the recipient of a ‘Lifetime Achievement in Sport,’ award…not bad for a school where there was no grass!!
