Two more COVID-19 deaths but infection rates show downward trend

WHILE two more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital infection rates have fallen in many areas of the town for the first time in recent weeks.

The 630 cases week ending July 15 compared to 748 cases in the week ending July 8, compared to 574 the previous week and 487 the week before that.There have been another two COVID-19-related hospital deaths since yesterday, while inpatient numbers have fallen from 74-73 with 8 patients discharged since yesterday.

Current inpatients as of Wednesday, July 20, 2022, compared to Tuesday, July 19 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 73 (74) including 3(3) in ICU.

The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 701 – 333.3 per 100,000.

There have been 748 (748) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 80,982 – 75,598 1st infections, 5,384 second (80,472) and an infection rate of  300.9 (357.2) per 100,000 which has fallen compared to a rate of 266.3 (309.4) for England which has also fallen.
