Inaugural Warrington Food & Drink Festival arrives in town at Time Square

WARRINGTON’S inaugural Food and Drink Festival has arrived in Times Square opposite the famous award-winning, Warrington Market and is now open for business until 5pm Sunday.

The festival is open from today, Friday, until 5pm on Sunday 17 July, with a great selection of businesses selling a wonderful array of fresh foods from around the world including specialist traders such as George Koumarides, selling traditional Greek Foods. There uis also a huge choice of vegan foods from his amazing Greek Deli and a unique Polish bakery for those who have a sweet tooth.

If its food to go or if you are looking to buy something different for a barbeque this weekend then there are a host of street food vendors again selling specialist street foods from across the globe including a Spanish paella stall from Cordoba, traditional Greek kebabs, Meats of the World including Alligator, Ostrich, Kangaroo and Wild Boar, with plenty of other stalls with something to tempt everyone’s taste buds.

Allan Hartwell, Managing Director of Market Place who has organised Warrington’s first Food and Drink Festival together with Warrington Market, said: “It’s a great opportunity for us to be able to bring our specialist brand of food and drink businesses and combine them with the already superb offer at the amazing Warrington Market. It’s been a great start to the event and we are confident that it has provided a solid platform on which to develop and expand this into a nationally recognised Food and Drink Festival for many years to come.”

They have been extremely helpful in facilitating this event and making sure everything was in place for our arrival on Thursday evening. This event clearly has the potential to grow into an amazing event for the town and we hope everyone comes out and supports local this weekend, so we can continue to bring back the event bigger and better in the future.”
