YOUNG people in Warrington will plan social action projects to help the local community during an upcoming series of special events at Gulliver’s World.

The theme park resort has again teamed up with Warrington Youth Zone, who deliver National Citizen Service (NCS) across the whole of Warrington. NCS a non-profit focused on delivering programmes for young people.
Young people will be tasked with choosing and planning social action projects that can be delivered with charities to benefit the local community, at three events hosted at Gulliver’s World in July and August. Attendees will choose projects working with either a foodbank, homeless shelter or charity that supports young people with additional needs.
After planning their ideas, the young people will present their projects to business leaders, including staff from Gulliver’s World.

Phil McNicholl, National Citizen Service Delivery Manager at Warrington Youth Zone, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to work together to create and pitch ideas focused on social good and making a positive impact in their local community.
“NCS is a space where young people can become world ready and work ready, and presenting to local business leaders, including those from Gulliver’s World, will be a very valuable experience for them.
“Our vision is for a country of connected, confident and caring citizens where everyone feels at home and we believe events like this will help us make that reality.”

Mel Burrows-Carr, resort manager at Gulliver’s World, said: “We’re pleased to again join forces with the National Citizen Service for these exciting events.
“We can’t wait to hear what ideas the young people come up with to support local charities and vulnerable people in the Warrington community.”
The NCS sessions will be held at Gulliver’s World from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Monday, July 18, Monday, August 1 and Monday, August 15.
