BEWSEY & Whitecross Cllr. Sarah Hall has won the contest to be Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Warrington South at the next General Election.
Describing it as “the honour of my life” Cllr. Hall was selected after the final round of votes at the Pyramid earlier today, Sunday.
She is the daughter-in-law of former Warrington South MP Mike Hall, who was also a former leader of Warrington Borough Council, where Sarah is Cabinet member for Children’s Services. She also works for Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols.
After thanking her campaign team she said: “The hard work starts now!”
She defeated Emma Fox and Luke Joseph who had also been short-listed.
The Warrington South seat is currently held by Andy Carter MP, who defeated Labour’s Faisal Rashid at the last General Election.
It’s the honour of my life to be selected as Labour’s candidate for Warrington South. A huge thank you to my fellow members for putting their faith in me & to Emma and Luke for the spirit in which they ran their campaigns.
