LYMM Colts’ Academy pre-season training has got off to a great start now the exam period is over.

Over the past couple of weeks numbers have been increasing , and players are showing a strong appetite for rugby. Former first team skipper, Tom Bray, who is now leading the coaching at the Lymm Academy, has been putting the players through their paces in terms of both fitness and skills.

‘I am delighted with the players’ attitude in embracing the elevated demands and expectations,’ commented Tom.

‘The training reflects the ‘style of play’ from Lymm’s senior team, which we hope will give our young players a higher repertoire of skills to utilise in games,’ added Bray.

Senior Colts’ Academy Head Coach Willis Mungai is keen to see the Academy grow and continues to welcome old and new faces.

‘Our approach, under the umbrella of the first XV, aims to develop these young men, creating a seamless transition into senior rugby,’ concluded Willis. ‘This will help keep players involved as they get older.’

The Academy trains on Tuesday evenings between 18:00 – 19:30, before the senior team, with some opportunities for integration across the age groups.

If you are a keen rugby player going into Year 11 (U16s), Year 12 (U17s) or Year 13 (U18s), don’t hesitate to come along to Lymm Rugby Club’s Artificial Grass Pitch on Tuesday evenings and join in. You’ll find an excellent rugby environment to be part of, to help develop your game, with high quality, qualified RFU coaching.
