Off-duty officer helps catch drink driver who was double limit after collision

AN off-duty police officer helped catch a motorist who was found to be double the drink driving limit following a collision at Walton, Warrington, last night.

The off-duty Sgt. reported the collision in Walton with concerns the driver was under the influence.

A traffic patrol attended and the driver was arrested for drink driving after providing a breath sample of 70 – the legal limit is 35.

The driver was arrested and taken into custody.
