Laskey Farm opens garden to support Breast Cancer patients

AWARD-winning Laskey Farm in Thelwall, is opening its stunning gardens next month to help raise funds to support breast cancer patients at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals.

In partnership with the National Open Gardens Scheme, the Farm will be welcoming visitors to its 1.5 acre site which features herbaceous borders, rose beds and a grass maze with prairie-style planting. A network of pools accommodates both specimen Koi and terrapins, creating an interconnected water garden that includes a swimming pond. Family-friendly, Laskey Farm offers a treasure hunt, treehouse and even a mini menagerie with chickens, rabbits and guinea fowl.

The garden will open on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July between 11am-4pm, admission for adults is £5 and children £1.  Booking is recommended as places are limited – Find a Garden | National Garden Scheme (

The Hospitals’ Head of Fundraising, Helen Higginson said: “WHH Charity would like to extend a special ‘thank you’ to Laskey Farm’s generous hosts Wendy and Howard Platt for their generosity in sharing their beautiful gardens with us for such a worthy cause.

“A luscious selection of donated home-made bakes and refreshments will be on sale to raise money to support our patients living with or recovering from breast cancer through our ‘Moobs & Boobs’ campaign.

We do hope that as many visitors as possible will join us to enjoy this rare experience in a semi-rural setting.”
