COVID-19 cases more than double in a week with hospital inpatient numbers on the rise

COVID-19 infections have increased in nearly all areas of Warrington, more than doubling in the space of a week, with hospital inpatient numbers also rising.

There were a total of  273  cases week ending June 11  compared to 127  cases week ending June 4, compared to 109 the previous week and 155 the week before that.

While no further deaths have been reported since Monday, inpatient numbers have risen from 20-28 while 10 patients have been discharged.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, June 16, 2022 compared to Monday, June 13 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 28 (20) including 1 (1) in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 646 – 308.3 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 265.3
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 693 – 330 per 100,000.

There have been 259 (211) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 78,293 – 73,511 1st infections, 4,729 second (78,093) and an infection rate of 123.7 (100.8) per 100,000 which has risen again compared to a rate of 113.9 for England.
