Police helicopter involved in manhunt for motorist after woman and teenager injured at Birchwood

THE Police helicopter was involved in a manhunt at Birchwood on Saturday evening after a woman and a teenage boy sustained injuries caused by a man driving a car.

The motorist fled the scene near Warrington Road and the vehicle he was driving was later found abandoned on Lyster Close Birchwood. Police enquiries are ongoing into the incident.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At around 8.45 pm on Saturday, June 11, police received reports of an altercation in the Warrington Road area of Birchwood in Warrington.

“Officers attended and discovered that a 16-year-old boy and a woman had sustained minor injuries inflicted by a man driving a car. They did not require medical assistance.

“The man had fled the scene in the black Ford Fiesta.

“Officers found the car abandoned in Lyster Close, Birchwood, Warrington, later that night and enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing.”
