Prolific shoplifter from Scotland banned from entering England after targeting Warrington store

A prolific shoplifter from Scotland, who was recognised by staff in a Golden Square store has been barred from entering England, other than to appear in court.

On May 12, there was a Theft of £200+ worth of clothing from JD Sports in Golden Square. However, a member of staff recognised the offender, a prolific shoplifter from Glasgow.

The staff member had previous dealings with her from a Preston branch of JD Sports. She was circulated as Wanted by Warrington police.

On the 31st May 2022, police colleagues across the border in Lancaster arrested the offender for another offence on their patch and also detained her for the JD Sports theft.

She has been charged with both offences and was kept in for the next day’s court. She will next appear for sentence at the end of the month – until then she has Bail Conditions not to enter England other than to attend court.

Warrington Police congratulated JD staff for a “great spot” and a good pick-up by their counterparts in Lancashire.
