The eleven areas of Warrington where COVID-19 is on the rise as one more death reported

WITH one more COVID-19 death sadly reported at Warrington Hospital, eleven areas of the town have seen increases in COVID-19 infections, with the first indications infection rates are starting to rise.

There were a total of 127 cases week ending June 4, compared to 109  cases week ending May 28, compared to 155 the previous week and 189 the week before that.

As well as one more death at the hospital, the number of patients in intensive care has risen from 1 to 3 while eight patients have been discharged since Tuesday.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, June 9, 2022 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 18 (20) including 3 (1) in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 646 – 308.3 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 265.3
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 693 – 330 per 100,000.

There have been 127  COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 77,941 – 73,290 1st infections, 4,651 second (77,863) and an infection rate of 60.7 (54) per 100,000 which has risen for the first time recently but is below the national rate of 85.9.
