Meanwhile, at Blooming Art in the town centre, local artists took part in special art classes to celebrate the occasion.

BloomingArt, founded by Gail Stubbinmgs, has been chosen as a community arts project to help celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

Thanks to the National Lottery in supporting community organisations to deliver creative activities as part of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, BloomingArt was honoured to have been chosen via Cheshire Community Foundation on behalf of The Arts Council England to be able to deliver a “phenomenal” project for our Warrington Community.

Together Art Tutors and Artists conducted research into key historical events from Queen Elizabeth’s reign and examined the tradition of portraiture within the Royal family.
Participants were be encouraged to weave into their portraits an aspect of Elizabeth’s history and to represent her personality in their responses.
