AS part of celebrations for Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, people with the name Elizabeth can enjoy a free coffee and cake at the bistro at the Belong Warrington care village on Loushers Lane in June.

This follows the bistro’s recent reopening after remaining closed to external visitors since the outset of the coronavirus pandemic. Located at the heart of the village’s central hub and open to the public, as well as friends and relatives of residents, the family-friendly café is a focal point of the local community and serves a wide range of freshly prepared food and snacks throughout the day in a relaxed and informal setting.

Commenting on the reopening of the village bistro, Belong Warrington General Manager Kathryn Farmer said: “We are very much looking forward to seeing the return of the vibrant atmosphere that the bistro brings to the village. We wanted to do something to mark the occasion, and we thought that it would be a great idea to tie it into celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, so anyone whose name is Elizabeth can enjoy a free coffee and cake in the village bistro in the month of the Platinum Jubilee festivities.”

The offer coincides with the not-for-profit care village operator and dementia specialist being chosen to feature in the official publication of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations alongside other organisations selected for their exceptional contributions to UK society and culture in the past 70 years.

Her Majesty The Queen: The Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album charts the monarch’s 70-year reign through over 250 photographs of the Queen throughout her life, as well as developments in the UK and around the world over the past seven decades. The book also profiles a select number of outstanding individuals and organisations from across the country and the Commonwealth that have had an impact on life in the UK. Since it launched 15 years ago, Belong has been at the forefront of driving standards of care in the UK, particularly for people living with dementia.

Her Majesty The Queen: The Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album will be officially launched on 5 June 2022 on The Mall in central London as part of the four-day bank holiday weekend of jubilee celebrations. The book is now available to purchase in shops and online at www.stjamess.org/shop
