WARRINGTON North MP Charlotte Nichols has been unanimously reselected to stand for Labour again at the next General Election, whenever that might be.

Commenting on her reselection Charlotte said: “The next General Election, and our chance to finally get rid of this scandal-mired, incompetent Government, frankly can’t come soon enough.

“I’m proud to have been reselected unanimously by all participating branches and affiliated organisations of Warrington North Constituency Labour Party, as Labour’s candidate ready for when the time comes.

She added: “I want to thank every participating member, Branch, Trade Union and affiliate for unanimously reselecting me as the Labour candidate for Warrington North.

“It has been an honour and privilege to represent Warrington North since 2019 – championing and advocating for our town’s communities.

“I am thankful for the continued trust and support of my constituents to get on with the job of tackling the cost of living crisis and building towards a Labour government that delivers for Warrington and country.”

The MP’s arrival in Warrington North met with some controversy when originally selected for the 2019 election, as she won the nomination over local candidates.

She went on to win the election, holding off a strong challenge from Conservative candidate Wendy Maisey with a majority of just 1,509 compared to a Labour majority of over 9,000 when her predecessor, Helen Jones was last elected in 2017.
