Two more COVID-19 related deaths as infection rates continue to fall with 80 new cases

TWO more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, although infection rates continue to fall with 80 new cases confirmed in the town.

Inpatient numbers at Warrington Hospital have increased from 65-66 including 3 (2) in intensive care, while 18 more patients have been discharged since yesterday.

Current inpatients as of Wednesday, April 6, 2022 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 66 (65) including 3 (2) in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 621 – 296.6 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 257.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 664 – 317.1 per 100,000.

There have been 524 (564) new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days, including 80 since yesterday, taking the total to 76,453 (76,373) and an infection rate of 311.8 (327.6) per 100,000 which has fallen again, while the national rate also continues to fall to 299.5 (311).
Testing has also fallen by -709,418(-23.5%) over the past seven days.
