POLICE are urging parents to check up on the whereabouts of their children following ongoing issues with anti-social behaviour at Orford Park involving large groups of youths.

Reports locally say the latest incident involved a large group of youths harassing a local girl – other issues include setting litter bins on fire and off-road biking.

Police are continuing to patrol the park and surrounding areas on a regular basis.

Yesterday they attended large groups of youths causing anti-social behaviour. Police say this will not be tolerated and will be dealt with accordingly.

A local mother reported that the large group had been harassing her daughter.

Police posted on social media “Parents do you know where your children are and what they are doing?”

  1. Again another phase of life where we’re trying to “Bolt the stable door after the horses have fled” It’s happening too many times with different aspects of life. Things don’t get nipped in the bud before it’s too late. It’s all a result of our lax attitude to law and order. When one person gets away with something then someone else thinks they can do it and it just escalates. Basically though there’s just no respect and no recriminations anymore
