Police helicopter helps locate dangerous driver

THE police helicopter was brought into action to help police catch a dangerous driver who failed to stop on Battersby Lane, Warrington, earlier today.

At around 1.50 pm today, officers on patrol in Warrington attempted to stop a red Renault Megane that was travelling along Battersby Lane.

The vehicle failed to stop and made off from the scene.

The car was later found abandoned on College Close and, following the assistance of a police helicopter, a search was made of the area and a 40-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving without a licence and without insurance.

He remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
