AS part of the reopening celebrations on Saturday 23rd April, LiveWire’s Library team are looking for volunteers to help transport the last 100 books.
The transfer of the books, and some museum exhibits from the pop-up library in Golden Square to the Museum & Library on Museum Street, is part of a day of free family celebrations to mark the reopening of the much-loved building following a £360K renovation.
It will include a family-friendly takeover of the whole building with trails and treasure hunts and drop-in activities such as crafts and storytelling as well as workshops and performances
The opening event runs from 10.15am to 4pm and there will be goody bags for children and free World Book Night books for the first 100 visitors.
Rachel Ralston, LiveWire’s Strategic Library Manager, said: “While we have loved our time at the Pop-Up Museum & Library in Golden Square we are looking forward to returning back to our home later this month when the Museum & Library reopens following renovation works.
“As a symbolic gesture, to help mark the return to the building, we are asking people to turn up at the pop-up in Golden Square to help to take the last 100 books and some Museum exhibits from the pop-up to the Library and Museum building.
“We would love as many people possible to join us and Jet the Livewire Mascot will be there to help too!”
To get involved in the transporting of the final 100 books please meet at 9.30am on Saturday 23rd April at Pop-Up Museum & Library in Golden Square Shopping Centre.
