FIREFIGHTERS have warned of the dangers of arson following a suspected deliberate fire on the banks of the Bridgewater Canal at Lymm.
One crew Lymm was called to reports of a well-developed fire on the banks of the Bridgewater Canal in the village at 12:20 pm today.
The crew used a pump to get water from the canal to the fire, via a hose reel, to extinguish the flames.
It is believed this fire may have been started deliberately.
A Cheshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: “Fires like this can quickly get out of hand and cause extensive damage. They also use valuable resources which could be needed elsewhere.
