Lymm Ladies Circle: Calling all new members

LYMM Ladies Circle is looking for new members interested in making new friends, having fun and fundraising for good causes.

Part of the national Ladies Circle group, Lymm Ladies blends the rich heritage of this established network with its own unique approach.

Its ethos is about helping women make new friends, try new things and be an active part of the community. From sponsored walks to paddleboarding, there’s a host of activities to suit all tastes.

The group moved online through the restrictions and lockdowns of the past two years, adapting its gatherings accordingly, which included cookery classes, crafts and cocktail-making. It’s now marking the return to in-person events with a call-out to prospective new members.

Chair of Lymm Ladies and local mum Helen Elliott said: “We’re really excited to be getting together in person again and it’s a great time for new members to join and enjoy a bit of a social boost post-pandemic.  We’ve got a packed calendar of events for the months ahead, so whether you fancy glamming it up at Chester Races or doing a spot of arm knitting, you’ll find something to enjoy.”

Events so far this year have included a magnificent Burns Night supper hosted by member Bev Jameson, and a disco night. Next up is a new members’ evening at Lymm & Tonic.

Jennifer Loxton joined the group in 2020, as a newcomer to the area in the midst of lockdown, and has made firm friends. She explains what Lymm Ladies means to her: “I live and work locally but when I moved to Lymm from Scotland, I didn’t know anyone. Through the group I’ve built some great friendships and it’s wonderful to know I have people close by I can count on if I need them, or simply to pop out with for brunch or dinner.”

Membership fees are used to support both group events and fundraising, with recent charity contributions made by Lymm Ladies including donations to Red Cross (Ukraine Appeal), St. Mary’s Church, Explorer Scouts and Home-Start Warrington, to name a few.

The group also gets involved with hands-on support at local events such as the Lymm Beer Festival, Lymm Transport Day, Bonfire Night and more.

New members should contact Lymm Ladies Circle on Facebook messenger for details of membership or call 07866 895 041 to find out more about the next events.
