Appeal for information after aerosol causes small explosion after being thrown on fire

A deliberate fire in the open caused a small explosion when an aerosol was thrown onto a fire believed to have been started by youths at Thelwall, Warrington.

The incident took place at 17:08 on Stockport Road, Thelwall. One fire engine from Lymm attended at the scene.

A water backpack was used by firefighters to put out a small fire under a bridge on Stockport Road.

They believe the fire was started deliberately and urge anyone with any information to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
