Two more COVID-19 deaths as infection rates fall for first time in recent weeks

TWO more COVID-19 related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital since yesterday, although infection rates have fallen for the first time in recent weeks.

Inpatient numbers at Warrington Hospital have fallen slightly from 99-98 since yesterday, while 14 more patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.

A total of 304 new COVID-19 cases have also been reported in the town since yesterday.

Current inpatients as of Wednesday, March 30, 2022 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 98 (99) including 0 (0) in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 591 – 282.2 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 246.2.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 658 – 314.2 per 100,000.

There have been 1,900 (1,915) new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days, including another 304 (311) new cases since yesterday, taking the total to 73,603 (73,299) and an infection rate of 901.6 (919.3) per 100,000 which have fallen for the first time in recent weeks, with the national rate also down slightly at 898.8 (902.4). But the number of tests taken nationally over the past week is also down more than 5 percent.
