POLICE have welcomed new security fencing erected at an anti-social hot spot in Lymm village.

Local officers carried out a patrol at Slitten Brook, in the village and were happy to see the work that Warrington Borough Council and The Lymm Ranger have carried out with new security fencing.

Work includes a lock fully installed now on the gate, along with a new fence on the step where youths have been gaining access to jump into the Brook. Fencing has also been installed on the historic Ice House.

The area had to be closed to the public due to damage that had been caused to the area during the past few years and will protect the area from further damage.

Police will continue to patrol the area especially with the nights getting lighter and the weather getting more sunny and warm.
