ROAD works close to Warrington town centre are to be extended for an extra week due to delays on site.

Warrington Borough Council made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: Tanners Lane (eastbound traffic) from its junction with Bewsey Road to its junction with Erwood Street; Dallam Lane from its junction with Tanners Lane to its junction with Buckley Street; Dallam Lane from its junction with Tanners Lane to its junction with Foundry Street.

The Order was effective from 6th March 2022 for up to three weeks, when signed on site – but now has been extended until April 6 due to the delays on site.

Access is under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative routes are Tanners Lane (eastbound traffic) via Bewsey Road, Folly Lane, Kerfoot Street, Winwick Road and Pinners Brow; Dallam Lane (Tanners Lane to Buckley Street) via Buckley Street and Winwick Road.

The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to carry out cable renewal work.
