PRIME Minister Boris Johnson paid a visit to St James Business Centre where he met with business leaders during his recent whistle-stop visit to Warrington.
ICC Solutions, located at the business centre for 25 years, hosted the visit.
Cllr. Wendy Maisey OBE, Conservative Party Chairman and co-founder of ICC Solutions said: “It was honour to have the Prime Minister come to our offices and sign the visitors’ book. There was a great atmosphere and many people who work at the business centre regardless of political persuasions stopped working and came to hear what Prime Minister Johnson had to say.
“He talked about the plight of the Ukrainian people and what ongoing sanctions against the Russian state were achieving. He also discussed tacking the cost of living crisis, Brexit opportunities and the levelling up agenda. He’d previously been to Warrington Hospital to open up a new scanning unit with an MRI which will cut down on the waiting lists in the region.
Meanwhile, Cllr Maisey recently appeared on BCC North West Politics to speak about helping Ukrainian refugees
The main topic was the Ukraine refuge crisis and Wendy explained how Warrington Borough Council is preparing for the arrival of the families.
Wendy commented on the show: “There are already around 70 families in Warrington of Ukrainian heritage who we can hopefully call on for help in integrating arriving refugees. The Council is already in the process of vetting individuals who are offering homes and are reaching out to schools, GP surgeries and other important services’.
