Public urged to give feedback over proposals for 250 new homes at Burtonwood

MEMBERS of the public are being urged to take part in a consultation that opens today, Monday, over proposals for 250 new homes in Burtonwood, Warrington.

A planning application for up to 250 new homes is being prepared for land off Clay Lane, Burtonwood and developers want to know what local residents think.

The new development will provide new opportunities for people wishing to remain in or move into Burtonwood village. The proposal includes a mix of family homes and will contribute to the recognised supply shortfall of affordable and general needs housing in Warrington.

The application is in outline, with only access to be determined at this stage. All other matters will be reserved for later determination.

A spokesman for Satnam Planning, which is preparing the planning application, said: “It has been long established that there is a shortfall in housing supply – for both affordable and general needs housing – in Warrington. The site at Clay Lane is suited to housing and is a sustainable choice to provide additional affordable homes for local families and single people to buy or rent, together with modern family homes for sale.

“The application is in outline only, but we are keen to hear what people think, and encourage people to view the proposals and tell us their views.”

“The proposals will be available to view online for 21 days from 10am on 21 March. They will also be held by Burntwood and Westbrook Parish Council for viewing.

“You can view the proposals online at resultscommunications.co.uk and tell us what you think by completing the online form or by emailing [email protected] until 11.59pm on 10 April 2022.”

Once the planning application is submitted, Warrington Borough Council will hold a statutory consultation, giving people another chance to comment on the proposals.
