Appeal for witnesses after hit and run driver leaves cyclist injured in road

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious incident when a motorist failed to stop, leaving an injured cyclist in the road at the junction of Padgate Lane and Green Lane, Warrington shortly before noon on Sunday.

Cheshire Roads and Crime Unit are investigating the serious fail to stop collision involving the cyclist and a blue vehicle.

The driver of the blue vehicle, possibly a Volkswagen Golf, failed to stop at the scene leaving the injured cyclist in the road.

If you were in the area at, or around the time of this incident and witnessed the collision, or a blue vehicle leaving the area, have any CCTV or dash camera footage, or any information which may assist our investigation please contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number IML-1226876

Also if someone you know owns a blue vehicle possibly a Volkswagen Golf and it has new damage to it please contact us quoting the reference number above.

Any information no matter how minor could assist our investigation.
