Wheelie bins and hanging baskets targeted by arsonists at Orford Park

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night after wheelie bins and hanging baskets were set on fire at Orford Park, Warrington.

One crew from Warrington was called out shortly before 9 pm following reports of a fire at the park on Alder Lane, Orford.

On arrival, they discovered a fire involving wheelie bins and garden hanging baskets which they extinguished with water from a backpack.

It is believed this fire was started deliberately.

It follows a number of arson incidents in the park over recent months.
