Is this man Warrington’s first “official” rapper?

DAN Clemo – who styles himself as Warrington’s first “official” rapper – has launched a record label to promote the genre.

The 24-year-old says there is virtually no rap or hip hop music in Warrington and is looking for about 10 rap artists for his new label BossMan records.

“I want to find rappers who would like to have their music heard by a wider audience.”

Dan – whose showbiz name is, simply, “Clemo” – has been interested in music since an early age and for the last two years has been concentrating on rap.

He said: “Obviously I would like to be rich and famous like some of the well-known rappers, but at the moment it would mean much more to me to help aspiring rappers – perhaps those who have never sung in public at all.

“I’m sure there is an audience for rap in Warrington, but there are virtually no artists for them to listen to.”

Clemo’s work can be heard on YouTube and can be streamed from Spotify.

“I want to hear from other rappers and also from people who have venues where rappers could perform. Too often, venues say to me ‘we only want rock and indie’.

“Anyone who comes forward would have the chance of using studio facilities. If they need help, I would be prepared to give them some lessons. “
