WARRINGTON-based consultancy Epona Marketing, has been appointed by Marketing Peak District and Derbyshire to assist with the delivery of a business support project funded by the UK Community Renewal Fund.

The Derbyshire Accelerator Programme, secured by East Midlands Chamber and partners, is part of a government initiative to boost jobs, encourage growth and support the recovery of visitor economy businesses in the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales.

A specialist in business support and transformational change within the visitor economy, Epona Marketing director, Alison Duckworth said: “I am thrilled we have been appointed as one of the business advisers to support Marketing Peak District and Derbyshire with the delivery of this project.

“The opportunity to assist businesses who need a guiding hand, have big ambitions for growth or just need some on the ground support, is what we do best. This, coupled with being able to make a difference to businesses whilst working in the beautiful Peak District, is just a delight.”

Epona Marketing’s experience within the visitor economy, working with tourist boards, destination management organisations as well as cultural organisations, attractions, and accommodation providers, means they are well placed to assist with the delivery of business support for the project.

For the project, Epona has partnered with associate and colleague, Caroline Sanger-Davies, former marketing director of Chester Zoo.

Caroline said: “I’m really pleased to join Alison and Epona for this project. With our combined experience we bring significant sector-specific acumen, alongside drive and enthusiasm to support the recovery of the visitor economy.”

Jo Dilley, managing director of Marketing Peak District and Derbyshire said: “Epona’s knowledge and experience within the sector make them a great partner to assist with the delivery of our Derbyshire Accelerator Programme.

“They can ‘hit the ground running’, work with multiple stakeholders, and understand the outputs required to deliver this project in a short timeframe, and we are looking forward to working with them.”

The Community Renewal Fund project will deliver support for businesses in the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales and runs until June 30
