Drunken man arrested for common assault

A drunken man was arrested for common assault at Appleton Thorn last night.

Police were called to the village following reports of a disturbance.

The drunken man was taken to the Runcorn custody suite to be interviewed after sobering up.

Meanwhile, local police also carried out patrols at local anti-social hot spots, including Fox Covert. There were no reports of any issues.
